My birthday week is finally over, but it was definitely a fun one. I usually don't care too much about celebrating, but for some reason, I really wanted to this year so I made dinner plans with my friends. As usual, things didn't go according to plan because there would be a huge snow storm on the exact day I wanted to have my birthday dinner. Because I had to reschedule, I wasn't able to see everyone I wanted to see, but that's okay. In the end, the week was pretty fun.
January 26 | Negril
One of my besties took me out to eat at Negril, one of her favorite restaurants. I've never tried Caribbean food before so I was excited to try something new. The food was really good and I was so full by the end of dinner that I thought I was going to explode. It was nice catching up with this crazy lady since she always has some hilarious stories to share.
January 27 | Buddakan
I was going to celebrate with my childhood friends the day of #stormjonas but there was no way we were leaving the house that day. Of all the snow storms we've had, this one actually lived up to its name. Instead, I rescheduled the dinner on my actual birthday. We went to Buddakan and I'm in love with their food. One of my favorite appetizers from them is the Tuna Tartar Spring Rolls - they're so damn good. I wanted to order another plate of those but we had so much more food coming our way so I restrained myself. After dinner, we headed over to 13 Steps to grab some drinks and laughed our asses off. We had plans to go to Fat Buddha afterwards, but we opted to go home since it was getting late and people had work the next day. Vinny also got me the metallic number balloons and the whole night people would ask me if I'm turning 23 or 32. I told everyone that I'm turning 32 with 5 kids at home.
January 30 | Debasaki
There was also another girls catch up dinner date with our boyfriends at Debasaki. I've heard lots of things about this place and people raving about it but I've never been. Their yogurt soju drink was actually really good, great for weak alcohol drinkers like myself. We ordered a bunch of wings, which were pretty delicious but I personally don't feel like they're the best.
I'm happy I was able to spend my 23rd birthday with some awesome people that I enjoy being around and I hope this year will be kind and sweet to me. I remember struggling to find a group of people that I felt I could be comfortable with, but this year I can say with certainty that I've found people I can feel that way with. I appreciate them and am grateful that they're such loyal hoes LOL Hope this will be a great year!
